The text on the back says:
This Castle, which is sited on a high piece of ground known as Beblowe Craig, was built in the 1550s using stones from Lindisfarne Priory. It remained in Crown hands until it was privately purchased in 1901. The interior was refurbished in the Arts and Crafts style by Edwin Lutyens and the garden was designed by Gertrude Jekyll. Today it is looked after by the National Trust and stands in one of the most beautiful areas of Northumberland.
David Holliday is a professional watercolour artist based in Northumberland. His paintings range from townscapes to wide open beaches, and from moody landscapes to puffins and pigeon houses.
